A Proud Lineage

 This was the first piece I made in metal and it was heavily inspired by my love of tattoos. I find that jewelry and tattoos share a lot of similarities in how they transform the body. Whether it be for expression, social status, or the marking of a significant life event, body adornments stand in my mind as one of the most impactful and interactive forms of art that we interact with in everyday life. 

This gauntlet was designed around my family crest and unintentionally led me to a lot of discoveries about myself and my family lineage. After almost 10 years, I now see the true significance of this piece. This was the first time I gave myself permission to be fully myself.
